Welcome to Portland Karaoke Review! I'm thrilled that you can be here to share the enjoyment that Karaoke brings. PKR's mission is to bring you up-to-date information, articles, photos and links to Karaoke around the PDX Metro area and Southwest Washington with occasional out of area features. PKR aims to fill a glaring gap that exists in the PDX/SW Washington entertainment reporting market. Currently there are no dedicated Karaoke media outlets in our area. PKR aims to fill that need and provide an outlet to cover area Karaoke venues. KJ's, developements and Karaoke events in a nuetral and unbiased manner.

Our blogger, Kurt "Swingcat" Johnson is a retired entertainment magazine writer and photographer with many years experience writing and photographing Karaoke magazine feature articles for Karaoke publications in Seatlle, Portland and Los Angeles. He continues as a contributor on a non-commercial basis. You may recognize his "Swingcat" nickname from past articles.

Swingcat is also a retired KJ and Dance DJ wth 12 years at the Grand Cafe (now closed) and multiple other regular and fill-in gigs around the area. He now only KJ's once a quarter at a mental health organization and an occasional home houseparty for close freinds...only on a volunteer basis.  So, he's seen it all and done it all and knows what he's doing and talking about!

And of course, as he will gladly tell you, there's really only one microphone that's worth singing on......an old-school,  Shure 55 stage mic!!
